The money side of digital goods and currency sellers is rarely as tidy as the accounting software assumes. Digital products invert the normal retail problem. There is essentially no cost per unit, no stock and no postage, so gross margin is enormous. That sounds like it makes everything easy. It just moves the entire question to one place, which is what it costs you to get a customer.
When the product costs nothing to deliver, advertising becomes your cost of goods in everything but name. A business spending more to acquire a sale than the sale is worth will look like it has ninety percent margins right up until it runs out of money.
Refunds and chargebacks matter more than the amounts suggest. Because there is nothing to return, refund rates can run higher, and payment processors take a dim view of businesses with elevated chargebacks.

Upload a statement and Cashowa does the sorting. Free to start, no card needed.
Three situations that come up constantly in digital goods and currency.
Cashowa works out customer acquisition cost from identified ad spend and new customers, and lifetime value from repeat orders. Those two numbers next to each other are the entire business.
Refund rate gets calculated from your order data. In digital products a rising rate is worth catching early, both for the money and for your standing with payment processors.
Platform and payment processing costs are categorised separately. On a low priced digital product they are often a much larger share than people expect.
Switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly to see the pattern.
Less seasonal than physical goods. There is usually a January lift for anything organisational or educational and a fourth quarter lift for gift style products.
Upload twelve months and the pattern stops being something you half remember. You can switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly, which matters when income arrives in lumps and a single month tells you very little.
Import your sales file and Cashowa works out profit per product, what is selling, and what has not moved in sixty days. Enter what each item costs you once and the margins stop being guesswork.
Add a lead time and it warns you before something runs out, rather than after.

Built around how digital goods and currency sell, not around a generic business.
A large share of a small price, and easy to ignore.
Blended return on advertising, which in this category is close to the whole picture.
Revenue against what it cost to get.
Before it becomes a processor problem.
Whether recurring revenue is actually recurring.
These get recognised and sorted on their own when they turn up on your statement. If something specific to your setup gets filed wrongly, you fix it once and it sticks.
Export a statement, upload it, and the categorising happens on its own.
