Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Cashowa(“Cashowa,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Cashowa website and mobile app (the “Service”). By using Cashowa, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address and name, created when you sign up (authentication is handled by Supabase).
• Financial information you provide — income, expenses, budgets, goals, assets, debts, and any transaction data you upload via CSV. You choose what to share; we never connect to your bank.
• Business information — if you use the business tools, details about your business and (optionally) your website URL for analysis.
• Usage & device data — basic analytics about how you use the app, and (if you enable notifications) a device push token.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processors (PayPal on the web; Apple In-App Purchase via RevenueCat in the iOS app). We do not receive or store your full card details.

How we use your information

• To provide the Service — tracking, charts, budgets, net worth, and reports.
• To power AI features (chat, planning, bill negotiation, business analysis) by sending the relevant context to our AI provider to generate a response.
• To process subscriptions and manage your credit balance.
• To send notifications you've opted into, and important service messages.
• To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.

AI processing

When you use an AI feature, we send the information needed to answer your request to Anthropic (Claude). This data is processed to generate your response and is not used to train their models. Cashowa's “verifiable math” design means the figures the AI reports are computed from your own data, not invented.

Service providers we share data with

We share data only with the processors that run the Service, each under their own data protections: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (AI processing), PayPal and Apple / RevenueCat (payments & subscriptions), Google Firebase (push notifications), and analytics/monitoring tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Sentry). We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can export all your data as JSON and delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile; deleting your account removes your profile, transactions, plans, and related data.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and row-level security ensures you can only access your own data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can do most of this yourself in Settings, or contact us at hello@cashowa.app.

Children

Cashowa is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
