Money in a magazines and newspapers seller business has a shape of its own, and most tools ignore it. Media is a low price, high volume business where postage is a huge share of every order. A used book selling for a few pounds might cost nearly as much to send, which means the margin lives or dies on shipping efficiency rather than on the buying price.
Much of the stock is one of a kind, particularly in used books, vinyl and out of print material. That makes it closer to resale than to conventional retail, with per item cost basis and no meaningful reorder point.
Condition drives price enormously. The same title in different condition can be worth wildly different amounts, and getting the grading wrong is the most common cause of returns and negative feedback in this category.

Three situations that come up constantly in magazines and newspapers.
Below a certain sale price, postage and fees eat everything and the listing time is unpaid. Cashowa gives you the fee and postage figures to find where that floor sits.
Slow stock in a low value category is often better cleared as lots than stored. The slow mover list is where you find the candidates.
Refund rate is the measure. In media, returns are usually about condition expectations rather than genuine faults, so a high rate points at how you describe things.
Switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly to see the pattern.
Autumn and the fourth quarter are strongest for gifting. January brings a clearing out effect that makes sourcing easier and cheaper.
Upload twelve months and the pattern stops being something you half remember. You can switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly, which matters when income arrives in lumps and a single month tells you very little.
Import your sales file and Cashowa works out profit per product, what is selling, and what has not moved in sixty days. Enter what each item costs you once and the margins stop being guesswork.
Add a lead time and it warns you before something runs out, rather than after.

Built around how magazines and newspapers sell, not around a generic business.
The decisive number in low value, high weight selling.
For stock where every item is different.
So dead titles get cleared rather than stored indefinitely.
Which in this category usually reflects condition grading accuracy.
Large physical inventories cost real money to keep.
These get recognised and sorted on their own when they turn up on your statement. If something specific to your setup gets filed wrongly, you fix it once and it sticks.
Export a statement, upload it, and the categorising happens on its own.
