Where the money went, last 90 days
The money side of games and puzzles sellers is rarely as tidy as the accounting software assumes. Toys have the most extreme seasonality of any category. A very large share of the year happens in about eight weeks, which means the buying decision made in summer determines the whole year. Get it wrong in July and there is no way to fix it in December.
That concentration creates a nasty cash problem. You pay for Christmas stock in the autumn, when you are still living off a quiet summer. The money goes out at the worst possible moment and comes back all at once, or does not.
Leftovers are punishing. A licensed character that was everywhere last year can be worthless this year. Unlike a plain wooden toy, licensed and trend led stock has a shelf life measured in months, and January clearance is where the margin goes to die.

Three situations that come up constantly in games and puzzles.
Licensing fees get their own category. Set against the revenue those lines produced and you can see whether the licence earned its cost or just felt safer.
The sixty day view flags what is not moving. In a trend led category acting in October beats discovering it in January.
Last year's monthly chart shows exactly how the fourth quarter landed and how much cash it needed beforehand. That is a far better basis for the summer buy than memory.
Switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly to see the pattern.
November and December carry most of the year. The buy happens in summer and autumn, which is the point of maximum cash strain and minimum income.
Upload twelve months and the pattern stops being something you half remember. You can switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly, which matters when income arrives in lumps and a single month tells you very little.
Import your sales file and Cashowa works out profit per product, what is selling, and what has not moved in sixty days. Enter what each item costs you once and the margins stop being guesswork.
Add a lead time and it warns you before something runs out, rather than after.

Built around how games and puzzles sell, not around a generic business.
While there is still demand to sell into.
Twelve months of charts, which in this category is the whole strategy.
So clearance shows as what it is rather than as strong sales.
Trend led items go stale fast and the sixty day list catches them.
See the autumn outflow coming rather than meeting it by surprise.
These get recognised and sorted on their own when they turn up on your statement. If something specific to your setup gets filed wrongly, you fix it once and it sticks.
Export a statement, upload it, and the categorising happens on its own.
