How to cancel YouTube Premium

Online (recommended):

1. Go to youtube.com → click your profile (top right) → Purchases and memberships
2. Find YouTube Premium → click Manage membership → Deactivate
3. YouTube offers to pause for 1-6 months — accept if you want to come back later for free
4. Confirm cancellation. Premium continues until your billing date.

On iOS: Many users signed up through Apple, which means YouTube can't cancel — go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → YouTube Premium instead. (YouTube Premium via iOS is also more expensive because of Apple's cut; if you cancel and re-sub via the web you pay less.)

On Android: Google Play Store app → profile (top right) → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → YouTube Premium → Cancel.

Pause option: YouTube lets you pause Premium for up to 6 months without cancelling — you keep your account state and resume when the pause ends. Use this if you're cancelling for budget reasons but might come back.

Family plan trick: Premium Family ($22.99/mo) covers 6 accounts and is barely more than 2 individual plans. If you're paying for individual Premium and live with anyone else who pays for it separately, switching one of you to Family and adding the others saves money.
