How to cancel Notion
Cancel Notion online in 3 minutes. Personal plans drop to free tier; Team plans require workspace admin access.
Personal Plus / Personal Pro plans:
- Sign in at notion.so → Settings & Members (bottom-left, click your workspace name → Settings)
- Go to Billing → click Cancel plan
- Confirm. Your workspace drops to the Free tier at end of billing period.
Free tier is generous. You don't lose your notes, pages, or databases — just the AI features (Notion AI is paid), file size limits, version history, and team features. Personal Free includes unlimited blocks for individual use.
Team / Plus / Business plans: Cancellation must come from a workspace owner (workspace admins without owner permissions can't cancel). Settings → Plan & Billing → Cancel Plan.
Notion AI separately: If you only want to drop AI but keep the paid plan, Settings → Plan → toggle off Notion AI ($8-10/member/mo saving).
Annual plan refund: Notion prorates refunds for annual subscriptions cancelled mid-year. Email team@makenotion.com asking for the prorated refund — they usually approve.
Free tier limitations to know about before cancelling:
- 5MB file upload limit (paid: 5GB)
- 7-day version history (paid: 30 days)
- No advanced permissions for shared pages
If you live on file uploads, downgrade to Plus instead of cancelling.
