How to cancel Instacart+

Cancel Instacart+ online in 3 minutes. Cancelling stops the $99/year billing; you keep ordering at standard fees.

Online:

  1. Sign in at instacart.com → click the menu (☰, top left) → Your Instacart+ Membership
  2. Click Cancel Membership
  3. Instacart shows the benefits you'll lose (free delivery on orders $35+, reduced service fees, family account sharing)
  4. Click Continue to Cancel → confirm

You can still use Instacart. Cancelling Instacart+ doesn't close your account — it just removes the membership benefits. You can still place orders, you'll just pay the delivery fee ($3.99-$9.99) and full service fee on each one.

Refund eligibility (annual plan): Instacart refunds the annual fee if cancelled within 15 days of payment AND you haven't used Instacart+ benefits during that window (no orders with free delivery). Outside that, no refund — access continues to renewal.

Free Instacart+ alternatives: Many credit cards include Instacart+ trials:

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve — full Instacart+ as long as you have the card
  • Capital One Venture X — Instacart+ included
  • American Express Platinum — $0 Instacart+ benefit on some tiers

If you have one of these cards, you're paying twice. Check before resubscribing.

Math sanity check: Instacart+ costs $99/year. The break-even is roughly 12 orders/year of $35+, where you'd otherwise pay ~$5-8 in delivery per order. If you order less than once a month, Instacart+ isn't worth it.

Mobile app cancel: The cancellation flow is in the app under Account → Instacart+ Membership → Cancel. Same flow as web.
