How to cancel Grammarly Premium

Online:

1. Sign in at grammarly.com → click your profile (bottom-left) → Account
2. Go to Subscription → click Cancel Subscription
3. Grammarly walks through retention offers (typically 40% off for 3 months)
4. Click Continue to Cancel through each screen until confirmed

Refund policy is tight. Grammarly only refunds:

• Annual plans cancelled within 10 days of payment
• Monthly plans: no refund, but access continues to month-end

If you forgot to cancel and got auto-renewed for the year, contact support@grammarly.com immediately — within 10 days they'll usually refund, after that it gets harder.

Don't downgrade to free — you keep using Premium features by mistake. The free tier still flags errors, but the rewriting suggestions are paywalled. Many users find the free tier sufficient.

Alternative free tools:

• LanguageTool (free tier; better than Grammarly free for academic writing)
• Hemingway Editor (web app, free for short pieces)
• Built-in spellcheck in Word/Google Docs/Apple's text engine has improved meaningfully

Educational discount: Grammarly has student plans at ~30% off. Worth checking if you have any current student status.
