How to cancel ChatGPT Plus

Online (only way — there's no phone option):

1. Sign in at chat.openai.com → click your profile (bottom-left) → My plan (or Settings → Subscription)
2. Click Manage my subscription
3. You'll be redirected to OpenAI's Stripe-hosted billing page
4. Click Cancel plan
5. Confirm. Access continues until the end of your billing period.

That's it. OpenAI doesn't run retention offers or "are you sure" gauntlets — one click, you're out.

Note: ChatGPT Free is still very capable for most queries (GPT-5 reasoning, web search, image gen with limits). If you used Plus mainly for occasional advanced queries, the free tier might be enough — try it for a week before deciding to re-subscribe later.

ChatGPT Team / Business: If you're on Team ($30/user/mo) or Enterprise, cancellation is per-seat from the admin console rather than from a personal account.

Refunds: OpenAI generally doesn't refund partial periods. You finish out the month you paid for.
