How to cancel Adobe Creative Cloud
Cancel Adobe online but watch for early-termination fees on annual plans paid monthly — they can sting.
Online:
- Sign in at adobe.com → click your profile (top right) → Manage Account
- Under "Plans", find Creative Cloud → click Manage plan
- Click Cancel plan
- Adobe walks through retention offers — usually 2-3 months free or a 30-50% discount
- To actually cancel, click Continue cancellation through each screen until you see the final confirmation
THE BIG GOTCHA — annual plan paid monthly: If you signed up for an "annual" plan but pay monthly (Adobe's most common plan), cancelling before the year is up triggers an early termination fee equal to 50% of the remaining months. If you're 4 months into a 12-month annual-paid-monthly plan at $54.99/mo, your fee to cancel is roughly $54.99 × 8 × 0.5 = ~$220.
Avoid the fee:
- Wait it out. If you're more than 14 days past renewal you can't escape the fee — but if it'll renew in <60 days anyway, just turn off auto-renew now (under "Cancel plan" — it stops the next renewal without triggering the fee).
- Switch plans. Adobe lets you switch from full Creative Cloud to a single-app plan (~$22/mo for one app like Photoshop). Switching counts as continuation, not cancellation, so no fee.
- Wait for the renewal window. 14 days after renewal, you can cancel without fees.
By phone: 1-800-833-6687 (US). Chat at adobe.com/help is also available. The phone reps have more discretion than the website — sometimes they'll waive part of the early-termination fee if you're convincing.
Educational discount: $19.99/mo with .edu verification. If you have any current student status, switch to the student plan — it's $400+/year cheaper than the regular full plan.
