Running a pest control seller business means the money never behaves as neatly as the advice suggests. Garden retail has one of the sharpest seasons in any category. A very large share of the year happens between March and July, and the rest of the year is spent either preparing for it or recovering from it. That means the cash has to stretch across a long quiet stretch.
Weather makes it worse. A wet spring can take a serious bite out of the only months that matter, and there is no way to make it up later in the year. Very few businesses have so much riding on something so completely outside their control.
Live plants add a dimension most retail does not have. Stock that is alive can die, needs watering and looking after, and cannot simply be stored until next season. Bulky hard goods have their own problem, which is that shipping a garden bench costs a great deal.

Three situations that come up constantly in pest control.
Courier and freight costs get their own category, which for furniture and larger items is often the difference between a sale being worth having and not.
In a short season the sixty day view is urgent rather than informative. Anything not selling in May needs dealing with in May.
Set your peak months against your fixed costs for the remaining nine. That gap is what the season has to cover, and seeing it as a number changes how you price during it.
Switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly to see the pattern.
March to July is the great majority of the year. August tails off, autumn brings a small bulb and planting lift, and winter is very quiet.
Upload twelve months and the pattern stops being something you half remember. You can switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly, which matters when income arrives in lumps and a single month tells you very little.
Import your sales file and Cashowa works out profit per product, what is selling, and what has not moved in sixty days. Enter what each item costs you once and the margins stop being guesswork.
Add a lead time and it warns you before something runs out, rather than after.

Built around how pest control sell, not around a generic business.
The cost nobody totals.
What sold, not what you hoped would.
Essential when most of the year happens in a few months.
Bulky garden goods make freight a strategic cost.
Because in a short season waiting is not an option.
These get recognised and sorted on their own when they turn up on your statement. If something specific to your setup gets filed wrongly, you fix it once and it sticks.
Export a statement, upload it, and the categorising happens on its own.
