The money side of name plates sellers is rarely as tidy as the accounting software assumes. Selling to businesses is a different game from selling to consumers. Orders are larger, buyers are less price sensitive on small items and far more sensitive on availability, and once you are an approved supplier the relationship can run for years. Customer lifetime value in this category is often enormous compared to the first order.
The catch is payment terms. Trade buyers expect thirty days, sometimes sixty, and that means you are funding their operations while you wait. A growing trade business can run out of cash precisely because it is growing, which is the most counterintuitive failure in business.
Availability beats price for most trade buyers. Someone who needs a fitting today will pay more to have it today, which makes stock outs far more expensive than a slightly thin margin.

Three situations that come up constantly in name plates.
Trade buyers leave over availability more than over price. Enter stock and lead times on your fastest movers and never be the supplier who did not have it.
Cashowa charts money in against money out by month. When sales are growing and the bank balance is not, the gap is the credit you are extending, and having it visible is what makes it manageable.
Repeat purchase rate and customer lifetime value get calculated from your orders. In trade supply those numbers are usually much larger than in consumer selling, which changes what winning an account is worth.
Switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly to see the pattern.
Steadier than consumer retail, following the business calendar. Quiet over Christmas and in August, with budget driven spikes at financial year ends.
Upload twelve months and the pattern stops being something you half remember. You can switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly, which matters when income arrives in lumps and a single month tells you very little.
Import your sales file and Cashowa works out profit per product, what is selling, and what has not moved in sixty days. Enter what each item costs you once and the margins stop being guesswork.
Add a lead time and it warns you before something runs out, rather than after.

Built around how name plates sell, not around a generic business.
Value against payment behaviour.
The thing trade buyers actually buy.
So you can see when growth is consuming cash rather than producing it.
Trade accounts are worth far more than a single order suggests.
Availability is the main thing trade buyers actually buy.
These get recognised and sorted on their own when they turn up on your statement. If something specific to your setup gets filed wrongly, you fix it once and it sticks.
Export a statement, upload it, and the categorising happens on its own.
